So, recently a team of psychologists found a correlation between the divorce rate and year book pictures of all things.  They claim if you want to know if you will have a happy marriage just look at your future spouse’s high school yearbook picture… I say good thing they didn’t say look at the haircut cause I’d be screwed.HA! These researchers also say that they believe the correlation could be that smiling people have a happier disposition or it could be that smiling people attract other smiling people creating a happy relationship.  I say Cough bullshit cough cough! Let’s just put my relationship out there for an example.  In my high school yearbook pictures I have that big cheesy Gina smile that I am well known for.  However, my fiance’s picture is hardly a crack or an attempt to crack a smile.  Now, based on these researchers I should attract other happy people.  Nope! Fallacy #1.  or that my smile would create a happy relationship and again Nope! Fallacy #2.  Now let’s not discuss why I am engaged to someone I am unhappy with cause I may say it’s because I smile…:)  So, obviously there are exceptions to everything and some fallacies in every piece of research but really I can’t imagine basing my entire relationship on the way my partner smiled in high school, and for all of us that survived high school we all know the reasons we could have not smile or smiled for that picture.  I would however love to see this hypothesis tested a bit more to include an adult photograph.  I know many people who do not smile in photos and are miserable people.  But again, capturing human existence without the turn, pose, and say cheese mentality has been some of the best photographs in American history.

Another Victory

History is being made in this unprecedented battle for equality.  Again I think it is crazy that it is even an issue in 2009 but it is and we take it one step at a time.

Vermont made history today, as the first state in America to enact marriage equality through legislative process – just FOUR DAYS after another huge win for marriage equality in Iowa.

This is a resounding message about the direction of our country. Not only did the Vermont Legislature vote to support marriage equality, but they did so with a two-thirds majority to override the Governor’s veto.

Now the courageous leaders of the Vermont House and Senate are about to bear the brunt of a right-wing backlash. Let’s show them they did the right thing.

I urge you if your state has any pending legislation that is concerning marriage equality and/or anti discrimination in the workplace, please talk to your senators.  You can also go to www.hrc.com and sign a form letter that will go straight to your senator.

Well this is gonna be a less serious because it’s funny to me.  How many of you feel like laughing when you hear people criticizing the president? I feel it’s funny for a different reason then maybe you do and my reason is….I can’t take him serious yet.  I feel like this giant popularity contest was held and like he should  have won a Mr. GQ award or something but he holds office of President?  and he is like sending countries to their naughty corners until they can get along with each other… HA HA! I love it.  I just heard that Obama is going to do immeasurable damage to  country.. I don’t see how quite yet which is sorta the point… But this whole 4 years is gonna be great because the Republican talking heads are truly entertaining and I will enjoy all the commentary.  Listen… I ain’t hatin on Obama ok? Just giving info on how politicians lied to all those that were treating him like Jesus.  PEACE PEEPS!

For clarification purposes… I am not hating Obama I am hatin’ on the public that BOUGHT IT! A politician that will say anything to get elected is nothing new, but wow when I saw people treating this guy like the second coming of Christ I knew that was a high pedestal to fall from.  Now it is my civil duty to expose those “promises” or lies so at least you know what to expect.  I do not identify with any political party and if you need a label to put on me I would say I fit in the radical community.  Just so you know I have no political agenda other than to show ya’ll who wrote gullible on the ceiling…!

Anticipating

I have found in my short 30 yrs. that we often anticipate moments or even occasions, events, etc.  This is probably not a new concept to any of you.  However, my question is why do we do it and can we prevent ourselves from doing it?  Say you are going to meet someone, do you not rehearse some things you want to say or do?  We even plan certain events in our heads and act them out.  Such as, what would happen if I told her “do it yourself!” (vague example)?  Then perhaps unconsciously you plan how the subject may happen so that you can say this thing you have planned.  Why?  I am guilty and so are many of us.  The rest perhaps unable to admit it or unable to be introspective enough to realize it.  Perhaps even some have mastered not anticpating situations.   Is it the ego?   So, everyone what do you think?  Is it something we do unconsciously or is it quite intentional? Can we train ourselves not to do it?  I just did it twice in one day, so it made me think….Your turn!

Yes you, the people who worshipped Obama while campaigning and clinging to his every word.  You can read about that in one of my previous blogs. I just thought I would catch you up on some of the lies that are slowly being exposed and give you some links to educate yourself about the NWO and other such reasons we should be SCARED of our government and not  believing the patsies it employs to lie to us. (e.g. Obama, senators, mayors)

My first issue with Obama is Clean Coal…

#1 There is no such thing as clean coal.

#2 There is NOT even 1 clean coal plant anywhere in the U.S.

#3 The coal industry is blowing the tops off of the Appalachian Mountains where my family has called home for many years.  I take personal offense to that as well as a global offense.  Destroying our mountains should be a crime.

#4 An investment in wind power produces almost three times as many jobs as the same investment in coal power. And an investment in solar power produces almost four times as many jobs, and energy efficiency, almost thirty times as many jobs as coal power.

Educate yourself! It’s coming! They are building concentration camps and have the ability to employ martial law whenever they wish.  SCARY!

Spent my life

“I have spent my life trying to the best I could for everyone.  I tried to please everybody and somewhere along the way I lost interest in who I was and just stayed busy.  Now I am 60! and… and…I have no idea who I am.”
Those are the words of so many 60 yr. old women I have met in my lifetime and words I promised myself I would ever need to say.  But, can we really promise ourself something like that, because life comes at us fast hey?

I am pretty confident in who I am yet there is this side of me (the spiritual side) that keeps creeping out lately and I don’t understand it.  Should I spend my life denying a God and believing in science or do I continue exploring this side of myself I have squelched.  All I know is I am a kind generous person and whether I love God or not am I not still that person…Well, it would seem so, but without acknowledging a God I feel something missing.  Maybe it’s a great job fighting for what I really believe in SOCIAL JUSTICE!

What is God? Where is God? Why is God so mysterious if he/she wants us to believe in them? How long are we supposed to survive with no scientific proof? If made in his/her image why are we not supposed to question….

Maybe we are not supposed to know but I know that I will live my life being a good generous person that cares for people beyond what any “normal” person can imagine and that will be my burden that I love!

This is so silly of me, because I have been donating/ lending for almost 6 months whenever I can and I didn’t think to tell everyone on-line.  I have told everyone else, Geez.

So there is an organization called Kiva and basically they allow people like you and me to lend money to those in areas of impoverishment like areas of Russia, Africa, India, etc..  This is a wonderful program and most times it is a loan of $25 sometimes less.  You are able to donate/loan more, but their basic principle is that $25 can change the life of someone in their situations.  So obviously when you lend this money there are risks such as the person getting sick, bankruptcy, default, etc.  However, I suggest that everyone who does this gives the money as a gift and not expect repayment.  They do pay you back most times I have not had a default yet, and it is deposited back into your Paypal account where you can take that same $25 you gave to one person and re-give it to someone else in need.  It is a wonderful program and helps people in these areas develop a business that is thriving and helping the community and their families.
So, please people…It is only $25 and if you only want to give one time and wait to be repaid and re donate that is still a great way to help.  If you want to give everytime you get paid which is what I do (Uncle Sam is helping other countries LOL) and then just watch how blessed your life is after that… Oh and when you sign up tell them that reginabailey5@yahoo.com referred you…Their website is www.kiva.org

C’est l’amoure, l’amoure, qui fait le monde a la ronde

I have never felt so comfortable talking to you than today… Thank you for that… I did have that one last hurdle to jump and I am glad I got over it.. Moving there will be very interesting and I think we will have our little paint parties and really bond… I think the little one having her daddy there will be really important and I was just telling your dad exactly what you said…Having two people in her life that aren’t the way “she” is will benefit the little one really well..Expect us sometime around August or September..Yeah…just in time for winter (said sarcastically)… See you soon…

Words printed on the cover of the “FP” Magazine, and my sentiment exactly.
I wish I were a bit more gullible at times, a little less of a deep, scientific, alalititcal thinker because that speech was packed full of emotional appeals that at times made even me tear up.  I wish I could have watched the whole Inaugural Speech without thinking in the back of my mind “This is horse manure.”  Don’t get me wrong ya’ll I voted for the man, I will admit I briefly got caught up in the hype and starting being a sheep.  However, then reality snapped me back like 4 days before the election and I said “Why, What, Who, Where”  and then voted for him based on the fact that he wanted to end the ugliest thing that I hate more than anything…..WAR! Senseless, unjustified, killing!

So, I wish now that I could believe everything Barrack said, but I can’t.  I wish I didn’t see the fakest attempt to emulate a great leader such as MLK Jr. I wish I didn’t see him ride the same train as a Lincoln, a racist man whom America has been led to believe was a hero.  I wish that great speech was moving me towards action instead of pulling me further into my shell.

But what I really see is a bunch of sheep looking at the man like their Sheppard, or even worse like their Jesus or Mohammed,etc..  I believe Jesus and MLK JR. were delivering similar messages to the people about Spirituality, of  which people around were to stupid to understand, and then distorted for 2,000 yrs.  The message was not about some God up in the skies punishing us, or sinning, and going to church….The message wasn’t about I want only black people to have a better life, or blacks need equality, it was about ALL PEOPLE having equality and enough spirituality to not need to grasp onto the things in this life that are arbitrary like color, race, gender, etc.  Jesus’ message was just as clear, “Follow me and be fisher’s of MEN, MAN, WOMAN,child”  We could all use some spirituality that’s all.

However, I believe the Bible to be a Great Book of History that is full of wisdom and proverbs that are universal and one verse I find particuarly useful while looking at Barrack Obama followers is a proverb against blind faith:

”A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thoughts to his steps.” (Proverbs 14:15, NIV)

So, Mr. Barrack Obama…I hope you do a great job as President and I will respect you as my president as much as I did Bush and Clinton (yes I am young)  However, I will call for your impeachment as I did Bush if the circumstance arises that I feel you are no longer serving out country and instead hurting it.  As with Bush a great disdain grew inside of me at even the look of him, so please make that speech you gave today come true, cause all those sheep on Washington’s Lawn today need it, and well even a sceptic like myself needs it.
